With more countries requiring healthcare compliance reporting through laws, regulations, codes and mandates, it is apparent that medical meeting transparency reporting has not gotten any easier. And with no standardizations, consistencies or predictabilities, it is imperative for medical meeting professionals be aware of updates, trends and resources. From planners to suppliers, medical meetings are a dauting task.

What will participants discover in this session/workshop? Focus on learning rather than teaching. Include a verb phrase and an impact (“in order to”) phrase—what will participants be able to do and how will they apply it?

  1. There will be over 1 million medical meetings in the U.S. in 2019 and equal or more in Europe, and Asia – know how to get the business.
  2. Do you know what physician’s and HCPs want at their meetings? Designing the meeting should be based on best experience for the HCP’s.
  3. Appreciate that change is constant in medical meeting compliance.

Pharma Codes for the Convention Business

Understanding pharma codes will help to ensure that pharmaceutical, medical device companies and HCO’s engage in an ethical promotion, restrain from deceitful practices and potential conflicts of interest with healthcare professionals, and comply with applicable laws and regulations. Thus, Codes seek to enable an environment where the general public may be sure that the choices regarding their medicinal products are made based on the merit of each product and the patients’ clinical needs. This Code does not aim at restraining the promotion of medicines in such a way as to hinder fair competition or limit interaction with healthcare professionals. Convention business is affected by the Codes and convention bureaus, travel and tourism boards, hotels, DMC’s, PCO’s, etc. need to understand the transparency and reporting requirements and be able to speak the medical meeting language.

Pharma Codes for the Corporate Meetings & Incentive Business

Healthcare Corporations spend on HCO’s should be transparent and reportable. Failure to do so can result in violations and penalties. There are 88 countries with some type of healthcare compliance regulations. Every country does it differently and every country does it differently, resulting in a very complex process for planning medical meetings and events. Leaders, professionals and personnel from different levels working in the medical meeting industry must understand the complexities and various codes.

Boom Time!

OVERVIEW:

In Boom Time participants create unified music with a Boomwhacker – a lightweight, hollow, colour-coded, plastic tubes, tuned to musical pitches by length. Armed with a Boomwhacker, conference participants follow a visual interface which guides them in collaborating to generate a fiery symphony of music. The visual interface displays colour-coded blocks across a large screen. Participants use timing and teamwork to strike their tubes and create musical notes each time a coloured block hits a key. As the event progresses, the pace and complexity both grow; blocks move faster, and teams respond more vigorously to keep the rhythm building to an uplifting crescendo.

Digital Confusion: Stop Screaming at Your Target Market

OVERVIEW:

  • Branding and marketing in the digital space are often treated as the same, despite their differences.
  • Once you understand what you want to do, what does the marketing actually achieve?
  • Upon identifying your target market, what do you need to say to them to get them active?

The main objective of this talk is for participants to learn who their target markets are and how to reach out to them to create a larger sales pool. The workshop will support the participants to learn how to profile their audience to ensure that the reach is effective. Once the participants understand this they will begin to understand how to create content and messages that allows for engagement and will over time create sales opportunities.

The talk is intended to enhance participants ability to engage with customers through digital platforms such as Facebook and other social media platforms. It will also support the participants to more effectively target, understand and communicate with the offline markets as well.
